Food and Wish List Drive

The Pink Dogue Pet Salon Inc. located in Somers is holding a food and wish list drive until Dec. 23. The drive is to benefit the Putnam Humane Society. You can drop off your donations at the Pink Dogue, located at 155 Route 202 (corner of Lovell and 202) in Lincolndale.

Annual Somers Public Menorah Lighting

The third annual Somers Public Menorah lighting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. outside the Elephant Hotel, located on Route 100 and Route 202 in Somers. There will be traditional latkes, doughnuts, chocolate gelt and dreidels for all. The event is free of charge.

Drop and Shop

Drop off your kids during the day at New York Sports Club in Somers, so you’re free to hit the stores. Children will rotate through a variety of fitness activities,
crafts and games in a safe and caring environment. The program is for ages 3  to 10.

Offices, Schools Closed for Thanksgiving

All Yorktown and Somers town offices, as well as schools are closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving.

Annual Turkey Mountain Hike

Walk off your Thanksgiving feast with the annual trek up to the top of Turkey Mountain in Yorktown and enjoy great views of the Hudson Valley. Meet on Friday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. at Locke Lane at the Turkey Mountain parking area off Route 118. No pre-registration is needed. Wear sturdy footwear and layers since the walk up can be challenging and the wind on top can be brisk.
