'Raise Your Glass' for Support Connection; New Somers Theatre Group

Monday, Sept. 16

  • Yorktown school board members will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Mildred E. Strang Middle School cafeteria. It is anticipated that board members will go into Executive Session at 6 p.m. to discuss matters specific to the employment of a particular individual and contractual agreements.   • Local artist Lynn Shulman is presenting a painting class, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Somers Library. For more information on the workshop classes, click here.
  • Learn the basics of your iPhone and/or iPad at the Somers Library on Monday and learn about the Apple ID, setting up your device, basic functions and iPad gestures (on/off button, charging, internet navigation, etc.) and more. Tuesday, Sept. 17
  • Yorktown town board members will meet Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Click here for the agenda.
  • The Somers Zoning Board of Appeals meeting will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
  • The Winery at St George, located in Mohegan Lake, NY, is opening its doors Sept.17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for an evening of fine wine, hor d’oeuvres, music, and prizes. The event will help raise money for Support Connection, which offers free, confidential breast and ovarian cancer support services, including one-on-one peer counseling, support groups, wellness programs, and educational forums.   • The Somers Open Space Committee meeting will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
Friday, Sept. 20
