Detect Early Signs of Breast Cancer; 'Funny Bones' Exhibit; Halloween Dance Party


Sharp Again Naturally, non-profit organization, will present clips from a documentary-in-the-making they are funding that features doctors, scientists, and patients who have reversed Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia using natural approaches. Visit the Yorktown Museum's Skeleton Exhibit "Funny Bones." The humorous display features more than 50 everyday phrases depicted and illustrated with those dry bones. The Yorktown Museum is located on the top floor in the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, 1974 Commerce Street. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Yorktown Teen Center's FUNdraising Dinner will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Golf Course, located at 187 Hill Street in  Mahopac. Helena Rodriguez, past board president of the Teen Center, will be the guest of honor. The master of ceremonies is Rick Cerrone.

Intrigue Dance & Fitness, located at 1950 E Main Street in Mohegan Lake, is holding a Halloween dance party for children on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. You must wear a costume and sneakers. Snacks will be served. There is limited space available. The best costume wins a prize too. The cost is $20 per child.

Adults will have a chance to celebrate Halloween during the "House on Haunted Hill" Costume Party on Friday, Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Lasdon Park in Somers. The evening’s events feature beer, wine, food, live music and dancing, along with a costume contest. There will be prizes for costumes in three categories: Most Original Costume, Scariest Costume and Best Overall Costume. More details here.
