Benefit YHS Hockey Team; Yorktown Historical Society Event

Four Part Workshop: Fundamentals of Charcoal Drawing

The Somers Library is offering a four-part workshop about the fundamentals of charcoal drawing. It is being held on Mondays – Jan. 6, Jan. 13, Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Torah Studies Course

Chabad of Yorktown is holding its second season (14 classes) of the Torah Studies course, beginning Jan. 8. Classes are every Wednesday evening, 7:30-8:30 p.m., and are held at the Yorktown Community Nursery School, 247 Veterans Rd. in Yorktown Heights (across the street from the running track). Dine to Donate to Benefit YHS Varsity Hockey Team

Have a burger at Jake's Wayback Burgers in Yorktown on Wednesday, Jan. 8 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to support the Yorktown Varsity Hockey team. Jake's Wayback Burgers is located at 96 Triangle Center, Yorktown Heights.

Dine to Donate to Benefit Recycled Paws Rescue

Jake's Wayback Burgers is also helping the local non-profit Recycled Paws Rescue on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The non-profit organization will receive 10 percent of all dine in/takeout orders.

Historical Society Program: Westfield Farm/Tower and the History of the Field Family in Mohegan Lake

A presentation by the Research and Preservation subcommittee of the Board for the Yorktown Historical Society, on the history of William Bradhurst Osgood Field, his family and properties in Mohegan Lake will take place on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 pm. The event will be held in the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center's Senior Room.

Somers town board members will meet on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
