Yorktown Lions Club to Golf for Community Programs

From the Yorktown Lions Club: 

The Yorktown Lions Club is holding its 10th Annual Golf Outing Scramble on Monday, June 3 at Somers Pointe Golf Club to help raise support for their many community service related projects.

The Outing will be following a scramble format with Registration, Continental Breakfast and a putting contest to start at 10 a.m., lunch on the Patio from 11 a.m. to noon a shotgun start at 12:15 p.m. A Cocktail Hour followed buffet dinner will begin at 5 p.m. accompanied by awards, raffles and  a silent auction. Tournament awards and prizes will be given out immediately.

Registration is $195 per golfer and includes greens fee, cart, golfer gift bag, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Golfers interested in participating can contact Maria Marks at 914-309-2036.

The Yorktown chapter of Lions International was founded in 1960. It is comprised of local members of the community who serve to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors.  Some of the community events sponsored by the club include the Halloween Parade and Carnival, Santa visits to special needs children, Summer Concerts at the Jack DeVito Gazebo and The Yorktown Easter Egg Hunt.  

In addition the Lions work with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Support Connection and the Yorktown schools in the form of the Leos, their High School version of the LIons, and Four Yearly High School Scholarships. 

All proceeds from the Annual Golf Outing will be used help the Club continue to provide these services. services. Any businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring this event can contact Ed Lachterman at 914-393-1447.
