Guiding Eyes for the Blind to Host Second Annual Wine Tasting

Guiding Eyes for the Blind will host its second annual Wine Tasting on Oct. 16.

If you love dogs, want to help out a local non profit organization and enjoy drinking wine, then hurry up. You've got until Oct. 9 to register for 's second annual Wine Tasting. 

 is a guide dog school headquartered in Yorktown Heights, and the money raised from the wine tasting will support its programs and services.

The tasting will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16 from 3-5 p.m. Amy Dixon, a blind Sommelier, and her guide dog, Elvis, will lead the event. Attendees will receive a tour of Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s facility and are invited to watch training demonstrations by the organization's elite guide dogs. 

The wine tasting is presented courtesy of Zachys Wine and Liquor in Scarsdale. All tickets to the event include the facility tour, demonstrations, and wine tasting. Ticket prices start at $100 per guest and include a take-home guide to wine selections. Additionally, there are ticket options for a take-home bottle of wine hand selected by Dixon, as well as a personal wine consultation.

Dixon is a Certified Wine Specialist from the Society of Wine Educators and is studying to be a Master of Wine of which there are only 212 in the world, a mere dozen of them women.
