The Board opened the public hearing on the company’s application for a special permit to permit the outdoor storage of its garbage trucks on two parcels off Richard Place and Front St . (The company has been using the site without the required permit since January and a notice of violation, issued in January, has been on hold pending the resolution of the permit application.)

Reports from the DEC, DEP, Planning Board, Conservation Board and Town Engineer  raised issues relating to wetlands, stormwater, possible contamination from oil spills and other contaminants, the proximity of the site to the proposed Depot Square revitalization project, and whether, contrary to the applicant’s earlier statements, garbage was being handled on the site.

The Board referred the application back to advisory boards and the engineer for more review and adjourned the hearing until December.
