Meeting highlights. For a summary of all agenda items visit ciyinfo.org

1. Paving budget
The Board approved using $500,000 from the Highway Department’s Hurricane Sandy FEMA reimbursement for additional paving. The money will supplement $378,000 received from the state and an expected, but as yet undermined amount from the county as part of the Legacy Fields road swap agreement signed several  years ago.

2. Water Department
The department reported that based on a survey of 100 installations of the new meters, the new meters reported an additional 250,000 gallons of water used, representing additional revenue of $24,000.  The old meters had an average 85% accuracy reading, compared to a guaranteed 99.9% accuracy for the new meters.

2. YCCC Field
The Board discussed the YYSC offer of $50,000 to pay for a portion of the cost of refurbishing the field. The major problem is how to schedule the down time for the field when the work is done and the sod is “taking.”

3. Library Children’s Room Renovation
The Board expects to advertise for bids for the project on August 6.

4. Financial Update
The $920,000 in FEMA reimbursement for Hurricane Sandy has been allocated back to the budget funds that incurred the costs, e.g., highway, water, sewer, general  (police, parks, etc.).
