Town Board questioned on sale of town-owned property

Questions were raised about why the town was accepting a $50,000 bid on a parcel potentially worth much more. The Board agreed with the Ethics Board's finding that a Town Board member had not violated the Ethics Code.

1. Sale of town-owned properties
Calling attention to a $50,000 bid for one of the houses the town took in rem last year, Susan Siegel (the person writing this summary), asked the Board if it had changed its mind about selling the in rem properties at auction in order to get the most amount of money.
 
2. Convalescent home
Linda Gironda asked the Board to request an interpretation from the Zoning Board as to what constituted a convalescent home and whether a convalescent home was independent of a nursing home. She also raised issues about the agenda and format of the planned February 24 informational meeting.
 
3. Ethics Code Violation
The Board passed a resolution agreeing with the Ethics Board’s finding that there had been no impropriety on the part of a Town Board member.
