Meeting highlights. For a summary of all agenda items, visit ciyinfo.org.

1. Jefferson Valley Mall amended site plan public hearing
After closing the public hearing, the Board voted unanimously to approve the amended site plan.

Mall representatives indicated they have a tenant for the vacant theater space but would not identify the tenant.  Additional restaurants are planned. The Mall agreed to landscape the islands along Lee Boulevard but responsibility for future maintenance remains unresolved.

2. State Land (Route 202) rezoning public hearing
After about 28 people spoke at the hearing, the Board voted 3-2 to close the hearing and leave open a 20 day period for written comments from the public and advisory boards. The proposal would rezone the 100 acre site on the north site of Route 202 from four acre residential to a C-1 commercial zone. Most of the speakers either opposed the rezoning or asked the Board to adjourn the hearing allowing more time for input.

3. STAR registration
Property owners were reminded that they have until December 31 to re-register for the basic STAR property tax exemption.

4. Foreclosed property auction
The Board will auction off 24 parcels only after it gets “clear title” to the five houses it took title to in a foreclosure proceeding.

 5. Dog Park
A resident expressed disappointment that despite previous assurances that the dog park group would pay to fence the park, the Board had agreed to spend town money for the fencing.

6. Traffic concern
A resident requested speed bumps to slow traffic at the intersection of Mohansic Ave and Whitehall Rd.
