Town Board: No progress yet on fluoridation

No progress yet on fluoridation. Feb 24 informational meeting for convalescent home will not be televised. New small business group forms. Funds requested for historic survey and recreation for special needs population.

1. Water Department issues
Meter project.  Letters will be sent to the 2,000 customers who received new meters last year informing them that a company will be contacting them to make appointments to replace a defective part.
 
Fluoridation. No progress has been made installing the new fluoridation equipment at the Catskill water treatment plant.
 
2. Yorktown Small Business Association
Four board members of the newly formed Yorktown Small Business Association made an informational presentation of their group’s goals and plans.
 
3. SPARC  (Special Program And Resource Connection)
Representatives of the not-for-profit organization that provides social and recreational activities for children, teens and adults asked the town for financial support.
 
4. Landmarks Preservation Commission/Historic Survey
Three members of the Landmarks Preservation Commission asked the Board for $3,500 to conduct a historic survey of the Heights area.
 
5. Convalescent home information meeting
The February 24 meeting will not be televised and  the Town Board will not be participating in the meeting.
