Town Board: No Decision Yet on 2014 Budget

The Board postponed until December 17 voting to adopt a 2014 budget. Supervisor Grace explained why a homeowner's total town tax bill, and whether it increases or decreases, depends on their location and what special districts they're in.

1. 2014 budget hearing
The main item on the agenda was the public hearing that lasted for about three hours and was adjourned to December 17 to give the comptroller time to make some adjustments to the budget before the Board votes to adopt a budget. The only major adjustment might involve the Water District which could have a spill-over effect to the General Fund and the tax rate.

2. Special permit for convalescent home on Underhill Ave.
The Town Board referred out for review an application to convert a single family house into a convalescent center for short term stays for 12-14 people  who have completed in house drug and alcohol rehab programs but aren’t ready yet to return to their family setting.
