Town Board considers mixed use rezoning for Bear Mountain Triangle

A revised plan for 96 units of senior housing, plus retail stores and a stand alone town operated senior center was proposed for the area between the proposed Costco and Crompond Crossing.

1.  Request to purchase town parkland on Illington Road
In a 3-1 vote, with Councilman Bianco voting no, the board referred a request from an Illington Road homeowner  to purchase a six acre parcel of town owned parkland abutting her property to the Conservation Board and the Advisory Committee on Open Space.
 
2. Raising and keeping fowl legislation
The board set a public hearing for July 3 on the proposed law that would allow fowl to be kept on residential properties of at least 40,000 square feet.
 
3. Auction of town owned property
The date for the auction will be postponed to allow the town time to add about 10 more parcels to the auction list. The parcels are currently in the final stages of the foreclosure process.
 
4. Rezoning request for Old Crompond Road (Mandalay)
The board reviewed a revised plan to rezone a series of parcels in the Bear Mountain Triangle area to permit a mixed use development of 96 senior citizen units together with some retail stores and a stand alone senior center that would be donated to the town. The plan was referred to advisory boards for review.
