Some Board members had reservations about moving ahead with the Supervisor's plan to relocate highway garage. Several residents objected to a dog park at Sylvan Glen Nature Preserve. Both discussions to be continued.

1. Depot Square and Relocation of Highway Garage
The supervisor explained his plan to eliminate the existing sludge composting operation on the Hill and use the site for a new 36,000 square foot highway garage, 20,000 square foot building for the Parks Department and a wash shed.  He asked the Board to approve resolutions to advertise for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to hire an architect to design the new highway and parks buildings and for a Phase II Environmental Study for the current garage site. Three Board members were not ready to vote for the RFPs though, and the discussion will continue next week.

  2. Dog Park/Public hearing on wetlands permit The Board adjourned the hearing after many residents and representatives of advisory groups raised questions about the suitability of the Sylvan Glen Nature Preserve. The Recreation Commission supports the plan.

3. Sanctuary Golf Course public hearing
Although the applicant had nothing new to say, two residents raised concerns about the long term nature of the plan. The Board closed the public hearing but left a comment period open.

4. Landmarks Designation Public Hearing
The Board voted landmark status for 3438 Old Yorktown Road.
