Planning Board Sets Costco DEIS Public Hearing

Planning Board sets Oct 15 for public hearing on Costco DEIS, grants IBM a 2-year special permit for up to 18 helicopter flights per year and reviews mitigation measures for Lake Osceola project.

1. IBM Helistop
In a 5-0 vote, the Board approved a two year special permit that allows up to 18 flights per year.
 
2. Costco
The Board accepted the DEIS and set October 15 for the public hearing on the document. Copies of the 2,200-page DEIS can be obtained from the Planning Department, will be available on the Town’s web site, yorktownny.org, and copies will be available at the John C. Hart Memorial Library.
 
3. Lake Osceola Realty Corp.
The Board discussed potential alternative wetlands mitigation measures for the office building project, including funding a portion of possible infrastructure improvements affecting Jefferson Village and the possibility of a study of Shrub Oak brook. Several board members rejected the earlier plan for a dock that would provide public access to the lake for kayaks or fishing.
