Yorktown Planning Board Discusses State Land Rezoning, Public Access to Lake Oseola

Planning Board reviews traffic, drainage and other impacts of State Land rezoning, how best to provide public access to Lake Oseola and Fieldhome requests okay for a temporary sales office

Work Session
1. Lake Osceola Realty Corp. (Hill Blvd.)
The discussion focused on how best to provide public access to Lake Oseola for fishing and possible kayaking as part of the office building’s site plan. A Public Information Hearing on the plan will be held in July.
 
2. Fieldhome
The applicant wants permission to erect a 3,100 sq ft temporary sales office with a 16 space parking lot at the entrance to the site. A public hearing on an amended site plan will be held on June 26.
 
3. Recycling Zoning Amendment
The board continued to review the text of a zoning amendment that would allow both the collection and processing of a broad range of recyclables.
 
4. State Land Corporation
The Planning Board had its first look at the proposed rezoning application and discussed drainage, traffic, open space, alternative development ideas and the most appropriate commercial zone designation. The board was not ready to forward  a recommendation to the Town Board.
