Personnel (The board met individually with several department heads)
Open Session
1. Building Permit Renewals
Proposed legislation would set renewal fees at $200 for the first year and $350 for the second year.
2. Pool Concession Contract
The board agreed to extend the current contract for the pool concession for another year.
3. Woodlands Legacy Fields
User fees for the multi-purpose field will be increased beginning in the fall with the additional revenue being set aside for the future replacement of the artificial turf.
4. Chamber of Commerce Street Festival
The Town will accept the same financial arrangement with the Chamber as in previous years for co-sponsoring the festival.
5. Pines Bridge Monument fundraiser
The Chamber of Commerce is planning a new car show at Downing Park to raise money for the monument.
6. Bernstein House
The board will give an exclusive listing to local realtor Bill Primavera to sell the property. Mr. Primavera advised the board that the house is beyond saving.
6. St. George’s Winery
Tom DeChiaro presented plans to rezone the Winery property to either a C2 or transitional zone. The plan includes a possible land swap with the town, or the town licensing the Winery for the use of the adjacent town-owned land for parking.
7. Route 6/Mohegan Ave drainage issue
The state DOT has not acted to repair a collapsed culvert that creates flooding problems on Mohegan Ave.
8. YCCC room rates for non-profit groups
The board agreed that room rental rates for all non-profit groups should be uniform. Currently, some pay different amounts and some don’t way. Some who are paying would like to see their charge eliminated.
9. Traffic Safety Committee
Supervisor Grace wants to revive a Traffic Safety Committee.
10. Croton Overlook Legal Fees
The developer of the proposed Croton Overlook project objects to paying the balance of the legal fees charged for the SEQRA review of the rezoning DEIS.
11. 2008 Foreclosure List
Supervisor Grace and Councilman Bianco will visit each site on the list and report back to the board on what should be done with each parcel.
12. Proposed local law for special permit for helipads in OB zones
A draft local law establishes a special permit and also transfers approval authority for the OB district to the Town Board from the Planning Board.
13. Community Day
Supervisor Grace wants to see Community Day strengthened.
14. Gasboy
Supervisor Grace will work with Councilman Paganelli on an alternate approach to keeping track of gas usage by town vehicles.
15. Invitations
Supervisor Grace went over a variety of invitations his office had received and asked board members which ones they were interested in attending.
16. Police Department Purchase
The board approved a resolution exempting the Police Department from the town’s procurement policy and authorizing the department to spend $13,794.50 for Motorola communications equipment, programming and installation.
