For parents and kids! MHA's annual 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Kids’ Race - now on May 15 in recognition of May is Mental Health Month. New, central location, at SUNY Purchase. Kids’ Race begins at 9:00 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk Begins at 9:45 a.m. Support MHA's critically needed services and help promote mental health and wellness. The Taconic Road Runners Club times the race and medals are awarded to the top three runners in each age category. The family-oriented event includes games, food and entertainment. First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supply…Read More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
