Lions, Puppies, and Wine Fundraiser

The Lions Club of Somers is throwing a party, and everyone is invited!

We want you to join us for a night of wine, live music, and dancing.  This special event is about getting to know the Lions Club, it’s members and leaders, and our work in the community.

It’s also a chance to meet one of our favorite local organizations, Guiding Eyes For The Blind.  Guiding Eyes staff will be on hand with puppies “in training” to be service dogs.

It is also simply a wonderful night to be out on the town enjoying good company, good wine, good food, and dancing.

A highlight of the party is a unique wine-and-music experience presented by Amy Dixon, The Blind Sommelier, and singer-songwriter Blessing Offor.  Amy and Blessing — who are both graduates of the Guiding Eyes program and who will be on hand with their guide dog companions, Elvis and Laramie — put on an incredible show, using stories and songs to introduce the audience to five of their favorite wines.

We promise you: this will be the best (and most unusual) wine tasting experience you’ve ever had!

It’s all happening next Friday, January 24th, at The Pinnacle Restaurant at Somers Pointe.  Suburban’s George Feaver is bringing the wine and your favorite local chefs are bringing the food.  In addition to Blessing’s amazing songs, The Spinn will be on hand and we’re going to dance the night away.

Tickets are $75, a real bargain for a full night of food and drink, music and dancing, and great people.  Please join us and get to know your local Lions — and let us get to know you!

Visit somerslionsclub.org for tickets, or call 914-248-5339.  See you there!

Looks like a great event. I saw Amy and Blessing in October at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. It was like nothing else. I'm sure this event will be terrific too - and for such amazing causes!
