Board of Education Election Results

All three board of education candidates were re-elected:

Karen Corrado  - 805 votes

Peter Biscaccia – 784 votes

Tom Donatelli – 778 votes

There were 7 write in votes for Ed Ciffone.

Earlier in the day, Tony D'Andreia, whose four sons went through the school district system, said he was happy with the education his children received.

"I've lived here since '76 and I've never missed a vote," said D'Andreia, who is a former coach and past president of the Huskers Club and the Yorktown Athletic Club.

He called the budget "good" and said it was the best school district officials could do under the circumstances.

Another resident felt differently.

Eileen DeLuca said she used to vote in favor of the budget while her children were in school. Now, she feels differently and cited the rising taxes as a major concern.

"I always come to vote, I vote the budget down," DeLuca said. "It's over extended. Now that I'm older, I vote differently."

District Clerk Rebecca Lloyd said the polls were "quieter than usual" and there were about 250 people who had voted by 11:30 a.m.
