YHS Jazz Band to Perform "Tour de Yorktown"

Students will share music with students and community members

The Yorktown High School jazz band members will be sharing their talents with the community on Wednesday, Feb. 9 in the annual “Tour de Yorktown.”

The jazz band will begin by playing for the fifth grade students at Crompond Intermediate School before they head to the Pines Bridge School at Yorktown’s BOCES campus. Then, they will travel to Yorktown’s Country House retirement residence and have lunch in town. The day will end with performance of assemblies at both the Mildred E. Strang Middle and Mohansic Elementary Schools.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for some of Yorktown’s most advanced music students to showcase their abilities and inspire our youngest musicians,” said Emily Kluga, who along with the Jeff Whalen teaches the students.
