Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Nurse Receives Excellence in School Nursing Award

The recipient of the award is Mary Beth Guyett. Westchester County Executive, Robert Astorino who declared May 8, 2013 as Mary Beth Guyett Recognition Day

Mary Beth Guyett, the Lakeland Central School District's nursing supervisor and school nurse at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, was the recipient of the Excellence in School Nursing award from the Zone 4 National Association of School Nurses.

The woman received a proclamation from Westchester County Executive, Robert Astorino who declared May 8, 2013 as Mary Beth Guyett Recognition Day in Westchester County, noting her dedication and commitment to our students and staff.

Additional remarks reflected the dedication of all of school nurses.

"These special health professionals play an invaluable role in the care of our children and have earned for themselves the well-deserved admiration, praise and recognition of all who are touched by their skills, caring and compassion," according to the recognition.

"I know everyone in Lakeland joins me in congratulating Mary Beth on this outstanding recognition," said MaryEllen Herzog, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel.
