Somers Tuskers Booster Club to Raise Money at 'Comedy Night'

The fundraising event will be held at Sinapi's Ceola Manor in Jefferson Valley on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The Somers Tuskers Booster Club, an organization whose fundraising efforts support all boys and girls sports teams in Somers, is holding a fundraising event at Sinapi's Ceola Manor in Jefferson Valley on Saturday. 

Tickets for 'Comedy Night,' which will be held on Feb. 2 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., are on sale for $75. The cost includes a buffet dinner, beer, wine and soda, as well as dessert and coffee. A cash bar will be included.

Featured comedians are Johnny Lampert and Sherry Davey.

"Enjoy a night of delicious food, good friends and laughs that will benefit all interscholastic sports programs in our schools," organizers wrote on the event's flyer

The Club's recent purchases include portable scoreboards, scoring table and podium, portable sound system equipment, golf cart, a contribution to the new baseball dugouts, score boards for turf two and baseball field.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
