A grand opening featuring student musicians and artists was held Monday night in the center court of the mall. A cello duo from Walter Panas High School and a guitar duo from Lakeland High School were the featured performers. Throughout the evening, students artists demonstrated the various skills they have learned for all those attending. The student art work is on display throughout the mall on both the first and second floors. Additional work, including three-dimensional art, can be found in two store fronts on the second floor near Sears.

"The show gives community an opportunity to view the magnificent work that our students create in their art classes," Lakeland's Superintendent of Schools George Stone said. "It communicates the outstanding talent of both the students and the art department staff."
