The Lakeland Central School District has joined Facebook and launched its own page for the community.
"The page will be another avenue to communicate to teachers, parents, students and community stakeholders on upcoming events, news, accomplishments and time-sensitive issues such as school closings," school officials said in a statement.
Residents will not be able to post messages but will be able to comment on posts and “like” the page. Officials wanted to remind people that if they comment, their name will appear with that comment, but their own privacy settings will determine what someone will have access to on their personal page.
