John Gollisz Appointed as One of Two Assistant Principals at Yorktown High School

The Yorktown Central School District has appointed two assistant principals at Yorktown High School – John Gollisz and Deborah Brand.

Gollisz has served as Instructional Leader of Science and Technology at Mineola High School and as Assistant Principal in Science and Foreign Language at the New York City High School for Environmental Studies. Gollisz changed careers from project engineering to teach science at the William Cullen Bryant High School in Long Island City.

"We are pleased to welcome Mr. Gollisz to the Yorktown Schools, and believe that his skills and experience in supervising teams of teachers, in managing budgets, using technology and managing data with students and staff will be a tremendous asset to us," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ralph Napolitano said. "Mr. Gollisz comes highly recommended as a teacher leader with a strong multicultural perspective."

Yorktown High School Principal Joseph DeGennaro said Gollisz has extensive and broad skills in supervision and technology, particularly in reviewing standards and best practices.

"His experience in supervision, professional development, evaluation, science, world language and technology will be a tremendous asset to our school and district," he said. "We look forward to welcoming him to Yorktown High School."
