Women's Journeys Through Genesis: Furthering Our Spiritual Growth

The first act by a woman in the Garden of Eden is an act of disobedience: Eve stretches forth her hand and eats fruit from the forbidden tree of knowledge. In so doing, she forever alters human destiny.

Our Torah’s book of Genesis has many stories that address multi-faceted human themes: love, betrayal, power, infertility, jealousy, passion, murder, grief, marriage, infidelity, fear and faith. Yet too often our understanding of these stories is limited by our having read them as children. Only as adults can we fully appreciate the complexity and richness of these gripping stories.

In this workshop we read selected narratives in Genesis and discuss what we can learn from them to further our own spiritual journeys. Rabbi Jaech will act as facilitator, but our discussions are intended to be interactive and personal.

The workshop is open to all women, members and non-members alike.
