Life Online: An Evening of Conversation about Social Networking, Cyberbullying and Caring for Our Very-well Connected Children and Youth

The community is invited to an evening of conversation about Life Online. Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social networking sites keep all of us connected to one another in wonderful ways. We can share our lives and build communities. Yet, those same places of community can become ways for lives to be hurt and destroyed. We don’t need to look too far to read stories of youth bullying youth or the wrong people using information posted online.

Come and learn about how to parent a high tech generation and being a youth in one as well. This is an opportunity to gain some education about how social networking sites work and what to watch for to protect our children and ourselves.

Come and dialogue with Mitch Fried and Ursula Heinrich, two doctoral candidates from the Ivan G. Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Pace University about this important topic.
