Carbone and Montero Uncontested in Yorktown Board of Education Race
School board president Jackie Carbone and trustee Christine Montero were the only ones who had submitted their nominating petitions.
Current board members Jackie Carbone and Christine Montero, , will face no opposition when taxpayers head to the polls on May 15.
The two women were the only ones who submitted their nominating petitions by the April 16 deadline, according to school district clerk Rebecca Narvarez. The positions Carbone and Montero are running for are three-year terms, set to expire on June 30, 2015.
Carbone has been on the Yorktown board of education since 2006 and has served as board president since the 2007-2008 school year. in 2011 to fill the vacated seat by , who resigned after serving on the board for almost six years.
