10 Yorktown Teachers Retire, Others Recognized by District and Colleagues
A number of teachers were recognized for years of teaching.
Colleagues and administrators recognized and congratulated a number of teachers who are retiring or have reached certain milestones of teaching during the Yorktown board of education meeting Monday night.Â
In a packed room, colleagues gave a standing ovation to William Tovar, an art teacher at the high school for his 45 years of teaching, as well as Albert Reid, a science teacher at the high school for his 40 years of teaching, just to name a few.
High school, middle school and elementary school teachers were congratulated on their retirement from the Yorktown Central School District as their names were called up one by one to shake hands with administrators and school principals.Â
