The Twinkie Diet?

Pass me a ding dong, please

Some of you may remember the Twinkie defense. A defendant blamed eating junk food for causing him to commit a crime.

Now we have the Twinkie Diet.

Professor Mark Haub of Kansas State lost 27 pounds in 10 weeks on a diet that included Twinkies, Doritos and sugary cereals. He supplemented this diet with a multi-vitamin, protein shake and vegetables. He limited his caloric intake to 1800 calories per day and maintained his normal physical routine.

What I found most interesting is that his LDL dropped 20%, his HDL ( that's the good cholesterol) increased 20% and his triglycerides decreased 39%. He apparently was also surprised by this result.

Munching on Hostess and Little Debby snacks every three hours is a novel way to lose weight. To me, there are a few conclusions to be drawn. The one constant is that weight loss is a simple math formula. You need to burn more calories than you consume. The second and also important point is that we are all different internally.

Just as everyone has a different nose, our hormonal system is unique and how we process and react to what we eat will differ. That's why some diets work better for some than others. Learn how your body reacts to what you consume. It also works the same way in fitness.

When it comes to diet and exercise, there is no "one size fits all".

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
