Tech After Hours Programs Give Younger Students Career Savvy

For students ages 12 to 15 who know what they want to do when they grow up or even want to explore a favorite hobby, The Tech Center is offering Tech After Hours this spring. The program, which will be held on the campus of Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, was “so successful in the fall,” according to The Tech Center’s Gerry Battista, that it is being offered again.

Students will be introduced to trade and technical careers in a fun and safe environment. They can choose from advertising design, animation, architectural design, baking, construction, cooking, ecology, carpentry, fashion design, hairstyling, law enforcement, medical assistant, metal working, robotics, save-a-life, sports medicine, and television production and digital film.

Monday/Wednesday programs begin in March and April and will be held from 3:45 to 5:45 for a fee of $225. Tuesday programs begin in March and will be held from 4 to 6 pm for $225. The Saturday program begins in April and classes will be held from 9 am to 1 pm for $185. The website is open for registration at http://register.asapconnected.com/Courses.aspx?CourseGroupID=10250 or www.pnwboces.org/tech. Summer camp information and registration will be on the BOCES website in February.
