Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace, who is running for re-election on the Republican Party line, has received the endorsement of the Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester County.
The Affiliated Police Associations consists of 58 Police Benevolent Associations serving Westchester County, including the Yorktown PBA.
Michael Grace, in accepting the endorsement said he was "honored and proud" that the Affiliated Police Associations have come out in favor of his candidacy.
"Over the past two years I have worked well with both the Yorktown Police Department and the PBA of Yorktown," he said in a statement. "Upon taking office, l immediately went to work on establishing emergency management protocols, including creating the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT). As a result, Yorktown was able to successfully weather the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. l am a strong supporter of our local police department and am honored to have their support in this election."
Other endorsements made by the Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester County, include: John Testa (District 1) for county legislator; Michael Kaplowitz (District 4) for county legislator; Somers Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy for county clerk; and Tom Diana for Yorktown highway superintendent.
