Yorktown Democratic Committee Not Ready To Make Endorsements Yet

The Yorktown Democratic Committee met last night but did not make any nominations because more people were interested in running.

The Yorktown Democratic Committee met last night to interview candidates for town board council who are interested in running on their party line. No announcements were made because more people have expressed an interest in running. 

Vying for a nomination to run on the Democratic party line are incumbent , Yorkown school district teacher Sean Kennedy, realtor Jason Wilson, Yorktown Athletic Club president Rich Campanero and town court officer Ed Ciffone, who did not receive the  last week. 

Committee members met at the house of former supervisor . Four more people have expressed an interest, communications director for the Don Peters' campaign, Bill Primavera said. He could not disclose any names yet, but said the committee is looking for women candidates.

Committee members are expected to meet again next week to continue the interviewing process.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
