Yorktown Councilman Leaves Open Seat on Town Board

Dave Paganelli was elected to the position of Yorktown Highway Superintendent. Yorktown Republican Town Committee to conduct an open endorsement and interview process for nominating Paganelli's replacement.

Yorktown Councilman Dave Paganelli, who was elected to the position of Yorktown Highway Superintendent, leaves an open seat on the Town Board which needs to be filled by Jan. 1, 2014.

State law requires that town board members appoint a replacement for Paganelli whose term expires on Dec. 31, 2015. That person would then have to run in a special election in 2014 to fill the remainder of the term and conceivably again in 2015 if he or she wanted to run for a full four-year term.

Yorktown Republican Town Committee members have announced they will be conducting an open endorsement and interview process for nominating Paganelli's replacement. That candidate would then have the endorsement of the Republican Party in the 2014 special election.

Paganelli received 4,501 of the votes in the General Election to his Democratic opponent Tom Diana.
"I am grateful to our family, friends and supporters. I look forward to continuing my service to my fellow residents in my new capacity as Superintendent of Highways," Paganelli said.

Yorktown residents who are interested in running for the town board seat may send a copy of their resume by United States Mail only, to the Yorktown Republican Town Committee, at PO Box 252, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.

Resumes must be postmarked by Nov. 30 in order to be interviewed.
