Somers Supervisor, Town Board Candidates: Voters Welcome 'Fresh Approach'

Following the Primary Election in Somers last week, Somers Democratic Committee-endorsed candidates Christine Robbins, Chris Foley and Harvey Kriedberg have secured the Independence Party Line.

Robbins is running for the position of supervisor, while Foley and Kriedberg are running for seats on the town board.

The three candidates have issued the following statement:

"We want to thank all those who voted in the Independence Party primary on Tuesday, September 10th. They sent a strong message that the independent voter welcomes a fresh approach for Somers; an approach that promises greater transparency, conservative spending, long-range planning, and vows to protect our library, parks, and open spaces. We believe that this is the approach that will best maintain the quality of life that the residents of Somers love and have come to expect."

Robbins, Kriedberg and Foley were endorsed by the Independence Party and they garnered over 70 percent of the votes cast in the primary. They will appear on the November ballot as the chosen candidates of the Independence, Democratic, and Working Families parties.

"Town government is about responding to individual voters’ concerns, and that is exactly how we are approaching our campaign – reaching out to voters one person at a time," Robbins said.
