Mary Beth Murphy Receives Endorsement from Affiliated Police Associations

Somers Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy – who is running for Westchester County Clerk – has received an endorsement from Westchester's Affiliated Police Associations (APA).

The APA of Westchester County has been incorporated since 1989. The organization was started by five PBA presidents and has grown to over 10,000 members. Their efforts are for working together to build a strong PBA' across Westchester County and provide a forum for PBA’s to discuss situations across their boundaries.

Murphy has been Somers Supervisor since 1998 and accepted the endorsement with great enthusiasm.

"This law enforcement organization comprises many of the police associations I have worked with for many years," she said in a statement. "It is an honor to earn their respect and support for my candidacy as Westchester County Clerk."

As Supervisor, Murphy has been responsible for the management of the Town including annual budgeting, capital project oversight, policy and ordinance formulation and implementation, personnel management and constituent communication.

"She is known for her leadership in numerous collaborative efforts with all levels of government," according to a statement. "Under Mary Beth’s leadership Somers municipal property tax rate remains the lowest in Westchester County. She will use her extensive administrative skills and her experience in the private sector as a practicing attorney to efficiently and effectively manage the County Clerk’s office."
