Elected Somers Supervisor Rick Morrissey Looks Forward to Working 'Tirelessly'

Somers Councilman Rick Morrissey has been elected as Somers Supervisor after his victory Tuesday night against Democratic candidate Christine Robbins.

Morrissey (R, C), who has 59-percent of the votes in the race – with all 18 districts reporting on Friday – said he wanted to thank all of his family and friends for their support throughout the campaign.

"I am sincerely grateful to the people of Somers for electing me as their next Supervisor," he said. "It is truly an honor. I look forward to representing all Somers residents as I work tirelessly on their behalf to keep Somers a great place to live."

Morrissey had 3,252 votes (or 59 percent) to Robbins' 2,247 votes (or 41 percent).

In the town board race, Somers Councilman Anthony Cirieco – who was elected to his position during a special election last year – and William G. Faulkner have been elected as Somers councilmen.
