Yorktown Teen Steals $141 Worth of Sears Items

A 17-year-old Yorktown teen is due in court next month to answer charges that he stole merchandise from Sears, police said. 

The teen, whose name police did not release due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. 

The shoplifter was reported to police on Sept. 22 who had stolen $141.99 worth of merchandise from the store displays and exited the store without paying for the items, police said.

He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing. The teen was later released and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Oct. 25.
