Yorktown Police Arrest Bronx Man for Choking, Hitting Woman

Yorktown police have arrested a 43-year-old Bronx resident for choking and hitting a woman, police said. 

Anthony Puoti was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and attempted assault, misdemeanors. 

Police received a report from the woman on Sept. 24 that the man had choked and struck her the day before, police said.

Puoti voluntarily appeared at police headquarters where he was placed under arrest. He was released on $400 bail and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Oct. 2.
