Yorktown Man Steals Items from Home Depot in Cortlandt

A 50-year-old Yorktown Heights man is facing criminal charges in Cortlandt for stealing items from Home Depot, state police said.

Troopers received a complaint from the store on Sept. 1 at around 12:07 p.m. that a shoplifter was in custody. The Yorktown man "attempted to leave the store, passing all points of sale, without making any attempt to pay for the items in his cart," police said in a report.

The man was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor.

He was scheduled to appear in town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Sept. 9.
