Yorktown Man Punches Another Man During Traffic Dispute

A 41-year-old Yorktown man faces criminal charges for allegedly injuring another man during a traffic dispute, police said.

David J. Galati was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Police said on Aug. 21 he allegedly punched another Yorktown man in the face, causing a laceration under his left eye. The incident occurred during a traffic dispute at the Staples Plaza in town at about 3:27 p.m.

Galati was served with a temporary order of protection and then released. He was scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 28.

Mohegan Lake Teen Drove Vehicle with Suspended Registration

An 18-year-old Mohegan Lake teen is facing a number of charges in Yorktown, police said.

The teen, whose name police did not release due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was arrested on Aug. 22 when police, on patrol on Route 6, observed his vehicle to be traveling without a front plate.

A computer check at the scene revealed the vehicle's license plate affixed to the rear of the vehicle was not registered to that vehicle, police said. The computer check also allegedly revealed the vehicle's registration was suspended.

The teen was charged with suspended registration, a misdemeanor; improper plates and no front plate, traffic infractions. He was released on $110 bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25.
