Yorktown Man Faces Burglary Charge in Lake Peekskill

Reported and written by Ashley Tarr

A 30-year-old Yorktown man is facing misdemeanor and felony charges in connection with a burglary in Lake Peekskill, officials say.

Quincy Fernandez is accused of sending threatening text messages to a former acquaintence. He then came to her Lake Drive home and entered without permission, according to police.

"Once inside he pushed her 5-year-old son and pushed her
onto her bed," officials from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "He then left the premises."

Deputies Jonathan Cihanek and Matthew Boscia responded to the complaint, which was reported at about 10:30 a.m July 21. It was later handed over to Investigator Michael Nalbone.

Officials arrested Fernandez, in Yorktown the following day, on a felony charge of second-degree burglary. He's also facing misdemeanor charges of aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Fernandez was sent to jail on $10,000 cash. He is due to appear in court at a later date.
