Yorktown Man Charged with Drunk Driving, Doing 104 mph on Motorcycle

Michael Chapins was doing 104 mph on his motorcycle when he was stopped.

A 46-year-old Yorktown man faces a drunk driving charge after a trooper stopped him for speeding in the town of Somers, state police said.

Michael Chapins was allegedly doing 104 mph on his motorcycle in a 45 mph zone on Wednesday. He was stopped at about 11:15 p.m. on Route 118 and was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated. 

State police said the defendant refused to take a chemical test.

Chapins was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Correctional facility to reappear in the town of Somers court on March 12.
