Yorktown Man Allegedly Found in Possession of Prescription Drugs Without Valid Prescription

Michael Gomes, 22, from Yorktown Heights, was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and having a prescription not in its original container.

A Yorktown man is due in court tomorrow to answer criminal charges. 

Michael Gomes, 22, from Yorktown Heights, was arrested by state police on Monday, Sept. 5. in the town of Somers after a vehicle, in which he was a passanger, was stopped. 

Gomes was allegedly found to be in possession of 11 1/2 Xanax prescription pills without a valid prescription. He was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and having a prescription not in its original container.

The man is scheduled to appear in Somers Town Court on Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
