Yorktown Cops: Sunglass Hut Employee Stole $1,786 from Cash Register

A 32-year-old Patterson woman is facing criminal charges in Yorktown for having stolen $1,786 from a local store's cash register while she was an employee there, Yorktown police said. 

Christina A. Mahoney was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. 

Police said they received a report from Sunglass Hut on Sept. 21, 2012 about the theft. Investigation revealed that between June 21, 2012 and June 27, 2012, Mahoney had stolen a total of $1786.84 in cash from the store's cash register.

After being unable to locate Mahoney, an arrest warrant was issued. 

Mahoney voluntarily appeared at police headquarters on Tuesday, July 30 when she was arrested. She was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $1,500 bail.

The woman was scheduled to appear Yorktown Town Court on Aug. 1.
