A 23-year-old Yonkers man is facing criminal charges in Yorktown for driving a stolen motorcycle and being in possession of a stolen license plate, police said.
Kevin L. Velasquez was arrested on July 3 after a Springhurst Street resident reported a speeding motorcycle in the area. Police officer Swart was assigned to investigate and later located the motorcycle and its owner, Velasquez, at a Springlnurst Street residence.
Police said investigation revealed Velasquez was in possession of a stolen motorcycle and Pennsylvania license plate, both of which were reported stolen at an earlier date.
The man was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony; fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.
Velasquez was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond bail. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on July 9.
