Yorktown Cops: Cortlandt Manor Teen Leaves Scene of Accident

A 19-year-old Cortlandt Manor teen is facing criminal charges after he left the scene of an accident in Yorktown, police said.

Police received a call from a motorist who reported a property damage auto accident at the intersection of Route 6 and Sunnyside Street on Oct. 4 at around 8:49 a.m.

Officer Donald Peters was dispatched to the scene and conducted an investigation which revealed that a gold Subaru operated by the teen collided with a Honda Accord operated by a woman, a Garrison resident. The teen then fled the scene, police said.

He was later identified and arrested on Oct. 14 outside his home. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, a traffic violation.

The teen was released and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 14.
