Yorktown Cops Charge Four with Stealing from Jefferson Valley Mall

$100 Worth of Items Stolen from Sears

Antonio J. Lyons, 24, from Cortlandt Manor, has been charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, for stealing items valued at $99.99 from a Sears store display, police said. 

The man was arrested on Nov. 13 and released without bail. He was then turned over to the custody of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office based on an active bench warrant from that jurisdiction.

Lyons was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13. 

Stolen Scarf and Shirt

A 39-year-old Mt. Kisco woman has been arrested for stealing a women's shirt and scarf from Sears, Yorktown police said. 

Ana E. Peralta was arrested on Nov. 15 and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police began the investigation when they received a call from Sears security personnel that a shoplifter was in custody. The shirt and scarf were valued at $75. 

The woman was released on $200 bail and scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13.

$219 Worth of Brookstone Items Stolen

A 16-year-old Putnam Valley male faces a petty larceny misdemeanor charge for stealing $219.98 worth of merchandise from the Brookstone store in the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said. 

The teen, whose name police did not release, was arrested on Oct. 24 when police located the teen on East Main Street. Police said the boy matched the description of the suspect on the surveillance video at Brookstone.

He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was later released and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 27.

Yorktown Man Charged with Stealing Sweatshirt 

A 20-year-old Yorktown man has been charged with stealing a sweatshirt from Macy's, police said. 

James R. Jackman was arrested on Ot. 27 and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said the man did not pay for the sweatshirt valued at $19.98. 

He was released without bail and scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 29.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
