Yorktown Cops Charge 5 Teens with Assault at Phoenix Academy
Five teens are due in Yorktown Town Court next week to answer assault charges after they were arrested for punching another teen at the Phoenix Academy in Shrub Oak, police said.
Police said they received a call from the staff at Phoenix Academy on Jan. 20 at about 8:32 p.m. about the assault. Investigation revealed the five teens – between the ages of 17 and 19 – had punched a 16-year-old male, causing him to sustain facial injuries.
Each of the teens was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
They were served with temporary orders of protection and released. They were scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Jan. 28.
